St Mary's church, Brijuni
St Mary’s church was in the 13th century the property of the Templars and after their order has been dissolved the life in the monastery ceased. Today its walls are preserved almost to their original height. The size of the church indicates a large population of the nearby Castrum building this edifice the 5th c. In the open atrium of the basilica and around it there was an early Christian cemetery which spread for 300 m all the way to Castrum.
